The Agent's AI Checklist

AI is changing how REALTORS work - and how scammers work. Here's a to-do list in layers, starting with the doors you should lock today.

Most of the AI talk in our industry is about speed - listing descriptions in seconds, market summaries on demand. That's real. But the same tools are in the hands of people who want our clients' money, and they're getting better at sounding like us.

So this list starts with security, not shortcuts. Work through it top to bottom. Each layer assumes the one before it is done. Check things off as you go (your checks stay in this browser only).

1

Lock the Doors

Your email is the key to every transaction you touch. Start here, even if you never open an AI tool.

2

Protect Your Clients

Wire fraud is the scam our industry is built for: big sums, tight deadlines, lots of emails between strangers. AI just makes the fake emails better written.

What I say at the first meeting

"Before we go any further - wire fraud is rampant right now. Nobody involved in your purchase will ever email or text you new wiring instructions. If you get one, even if it looks like it came from me, call the attorney's office at the number on their website before you send a dime."

Steal it. For a client-facing version with examples, send them to my wire fraud explainer.

3

Know What's Safe to Share

Before you paste a contract into a chatbot, know where it goes.

4

Put It to Work

With the doors locked, here's where AI actually saves time.

5

Stay the Human

Your license is on everything AI writes for you.

None of this has to happen in one sitting. If you only do Layer 1 this week, you've done the part that matters most.

I'm happy to walk any agent through setting up passkeys or a covered AI tool. Let me know any questions at all!
