The Agent's AI Checklist

How AI is changing the way REALTORS work, as a layered to-do list: lock down your accounts, warn clients about wire fraud, then put AI to work safely.

Most of the conversation about AI in real estate is about speed: listing descriptions in seconds, market summaries on demand. That part is real. But the same tools are available to the people trying to get between our clients and their money, and those people are getting better at sounding like us.

So I put together a checklist that starts with security, not shortcuts. It's built in five layers, and each one assumes the one before it is done.

  1. Lock the doors. Two-step verification, passkeys, a password manager, and a look at your email's forwarding rules.
  2. Protect your clients. Talk about wire fraud at the first meeting, not at closing, and repeat it before any money moves.
  3. Know what's safe to share. Find out which AI tools your brokerage covers before you upload anything with a client's name on it.
  4. Put it to work. Reading HOA covenants and inspection reports, first drafts, and showing prep.
  5. Stay the human. Check every number, read it for fair housing, and keep the judgment calls yours.

You don't need to do it all at once. If you only finish the first layer this week, you've done the part that matters most.

Open the checklist. You can check items off as you go, and your progress stays in your own browser.

If you'd like help setting up passkeys or a covered AI tool, reach out. I'm happy to walk any agent through it.
